For all you "gear heads" out there, here's a list of the instruments and amplification The Beatless use to re-create the sound of The Fabs. The Beatless have added several vintage instruments to their collection just in the last year or so. And the list continues to grow... |
Gene Brigham plays a Rickenbacker 325C64 Miami and an Epiphone Casino, the same guitars used by John Lennon for most of The Beatles' career. He also plays a Fender Stratocaster and a Takamine acoustic/electric. He uses a Fender Twin amplifier, like the amp used by John for the Apple rooftop performance, and several effect pedals to imitate the many sounds that The Beatles and George Martin conjured up for their recordings. |
David Butler plays a Univox "copy" of the Hofner bass that Paul McCartney made famous, as well as a Fender Stratocaster, and an Ovation acoustic/electric. He uses a Fender Bassman 100 amplifier. |
Kelley Lane plays a Gretsch ProJet very similar to George Harrison's 1957 DuoJet, a Fender Stratocaster and a Martin D-35 acoustic/electric. He uses a Fender Super Reverb amplifier and occasionally a Vox AC-30; just like The Beatles' used on their early tours. |
John Schroeder plays an exact replica of the 4-piece Ludwig drum kit used by Ringo Starr for most of The Beatles' career. John also plays harmonica, flute and a variety of percussion instruments during Beatless shows. |
David, Kelley & Gene also play synthesizers by Yamaha and Kawai variously throughout the show for songs that require piano and other accompaniments like strings and brass. |
